meditation: remembering your goodness

Even in the midst of suffering, it is possible to bring your awareness to the good qualities within yourself and allow them to manifest in your consciousness…..

  • Breathing in, I am aware that I am breathing in. Breathing out, I am aware that I am breathing out.
  • Breathing in, I am in touch with the energy of mindfulness in every cell of my body. Breathing out, I feel nourished by the energy of mindfulness in me.
  • Breathing in, I am in touch with the energy of wisdom in every cell of my body. Breathing out, I feel nourished by the energy of wisdom in me.
  • Breathing in, I am in touch with the energy of compassion in every cell of my body. Breathing out, I feel nourished by the energy of compassion in me.
  • Breathing in, I am in touch with the energy of peace in every cell of my body. Breathing out, I feel nourished by the energy of peace in me.
  • Breathing in, I am in touch with the energy of freedom in every cell of my body. Breathing out, I feel nourished by the energy of freedom in me.
  • Breathing in, I am in touch with the energy of awakening in every cell of my body. Breathing out, I feel nourished by the energy of awakening in me.
Continue to breathe like this for 2 or 3 minutes.
This practice is not based on notions or ideas but on the reality of your experience. In the past, we have all touched our own Buddha nature, our capacity for understanding and compassion, our ability to be calm, to look deeply, and we can rely on it in the present. Place your trust in the goodness within yourself. Simply call on your Buddha nature for help.
Both our body and our consciousness have the wonderful ability to heal themselves. When you cut your finger, you innately have confidence in your body’s capacity to mend the cut. The same thing is true with your consciousness, which has the capacity to heal, forgive, and generate goodness.
Develop faith in your own goodness, your own Buddha nature.
