Mindful Kids Gratitude Circle

At last week’s Mindful Kids Course, we had a Gratitude Circle. We passed a beautiful stone around the circle, and as each child held the stone they thought of and spoke of one thing, which can’t be bought, for which they feel grateful. Being Week 6 of an 8 week course, the kids are getting the hang of Mindful Listening, and understood that when someone else had the stone, it was that person’s time to speak and to be heard.

It was heart warming to hear expressions of gratitude for things like:

  • hugs
  • my autistic brother, even though he is annoying sometimes
  • a good old fashioned cubby built from old tree branches and sticks and leaves
  • the moon

Perhaps you could try this with your kids…..
